What's Shinshu-degikura?

It is the nickname of “Nagano Digital Archives Promotion Project”.
Kura means storehouse, it digitalizes and conserves valuable social properties like history, culture, natures etc of Nagano prefecture. In addition, we would like to hand down really important things and livelihood culture to the next generation.

We aim “Reconfirming of regional identity and development of a region” and start from reviewing regional properties. However, with change of generation, inheritance of some of traditional cultures is in a critical state. Tradition may changes with the times, even though; we have duty to inherit the way of living in our climate, as sort of the cultural gene to the future.

We, Nagano prefecture records and collects regional present and history, and digitalizes our various materials. We make public properties’ data by degrees of Nagano Prefectural Library, Nagano Prefectural Museum of History, Nagano Prefectural Shinano Art Museum and newly coordinated facilities.

We would like to help to create credible future with thanks to the past by reviewing regional culture and by conserving/preserving/making public data as common properties of residents of a prefecture.

What is in the Kura?
Something we used in the Kura
Living and culture are there
And histories we will store are there

We have duty to inherit
All of these to the next generation
With using and growing
We will inherit in our lives

Shinshu-degikura is
Our storehouse of Shinano culture
